What is bulk density? In simplistic terms it’s defined as the mass per unit volume of powders or granules in a bulk state. 

When you’re handling solids or powders, a bulk material’s weight in lb./ft³ or g/cm³ is often an important number. Processors often have the weights of the materials they handle memorized.

Demystify bulk density

What's the density of your bulk material? It matters. It affects everything from transportation to storage. Bulk density helps calculate mass and volume. Bulk density of material can increase with depth in a vessel due to particle size and shape, moistures, and compaction.
