PC Controlled
SmartBob II System Sharing Information with Remote
Display Unit (RDU)

The SmartBob II Remote Display unit (RDU) communicates
with a SmartBob II remote and the master PC via
the RS485 network. The units can be attached at
any position along the network. The RDU is a listening
device that provides two major features to the
SmartBob system, a 4 to 20mA current loop output
and a remote display or readout of measurements.
The current loop output can be used as an interface
to share measurement information with a PLC, DCS,
or any other device that reads a 4 to 20 mA signal.
The LCD display provides readout of distance to
product, height of product, and percent of product
in the storage vessel.
RDU Features
Can operate up to 4000 feet away from the controlling
PC

- Available in both NEMA I and NEMA 4X models
- Easy to read LCD display
- Last measurement is stored in a nonvolatile
memory; therefore, the information will not
be lost if power is removed
- The measurement on the screen is displayed
in distance to product, height of product, and
percentage of product in the storage vessel
in English or metric units
